Explanation of Characters

The following 12 types of characters exist within the world of Arfgaldt. Unlike monsters, these men and women can potentially be your allies or enemies.

When you are successfully able to recruit an ally, you will be able to learn their personal names. Until then, however, they will be referred to by their profession or class.

The following is a basic description of each of the characteristics of these characters.

For an explanation of the attributes of Combat Power (POW), Defense (DEF), Vitality (VIT), and Intellect (INT), please read the main dialogue carefully.


FARMERS (農民)

POW: 3-4 VIT: 6
DEF: 4-5 INT: 3-4

Those who cultivate the arable land in the region. Since most are subsitence farmers, their lives are difficult and precarious; however, some are more well-off. Since their ability to fight is weak, they are the perfect target for thieves.

Their combat power, defense, and vitality are low.

MERCHANTS (商人)

POW: 3-4 VIT: 5
DEF: 4 INT: 6-7

A travelling merchant. Most you encounter are merely destitute peddlers, but some who travel are surprisingly wealthy. They are especially intelligent, and are skilled at bargaining. With one by your side, you will be in a better position to negotiate with others in the future. Their combat power, defense, and vitality are not very high.

KNIGHTS (騎士)

POW: 6-7 VIT: 8
DEF: 6 INT: 4-5

These days, the virtues of chivalry has fallen to the wayside, with some even turning to thievery. However, there are still some who are still worthy of being called true knights.

It is as one of these knights that you play the role.

Knights have a high combat power and defense, with the protection provided by their armor being especially notable.

WARRIORS (戦士)

POW: 8-9 VIT: 7
DEF: 5 INT: 4

Warriors are those who fight for a living. As professional fighters, they are very used to battle, and have a high combat power. If you end up having to fight one, you will have a really hard time.

Their weak point is their defense; they don't wear adequate armor, and as such, they have inferior defense to knights.

NOVICE MAGES (未熟な魔法使い)

POW: 4 VIT: 7
DEF: 5-6 INT: 4-5

Those who can manipulate magic, though they are young and innexperienced. Their power is not very strong; with the aid of a crystal ball, they are only able to see into the future.

They do not have a very high combat power or defense.

WIZARDS (大魔法使い)

POW: 7 VIT: 7-8
DEF: 6-7 INT: 5

They are old mages, wise with age, and have access to the strongest magic power in this world. By reading the various runes on the walls of ruins, strange things occur within the land of Arfgaldt.

In battle, they fight with mysterious magical powers, so their combat power is relatively high.

MONKS (修道士)

POW: 4 VIT: 7
DEF: 4-5 INT: 7

Monks are those under the patronage of a temple, and are trained in the process of deciphering special religious scripts. Although they are highly valued as companions, they are very weak, with a low combat power, defense, and vitality.

TRAVELLING PRIESTS (旅浪の僧侶)

POW: 5 VIT: 8
DEF: 5-6 INT: 7

Unlike monks, travelling priests do not belong to any specific temple. Some are those who were excommunicated, others left the church voluntarily, and others stills are those who have migrated from other countries. Their attributes are very similar to that of monks, but their time adrift has given them a greater combat power.

BURGLARS (泥棒)

POW: 4 VIT: 7
DEF: 4-5 INT: 3-4

They are the sort of dull, insignificant people who break into nearby homes to rob them in secret. However, their manual dexterity may provide useful to you.

GRAVEROBBERS (墓荒し)

POW: 5 VIT: 7
DEF: 5-6 INT: 5

They are thieves who specialize in the robbing of graves. Needless to say, their company is of great use when attempting to investigate ruins.

DWARVES (小人)

POW: 3-4 VIT: 9
DEF: 5-6 INT: 4

They are a little people, measuring around 80 cm in height. They are not rare in Arfgaldt; in fact, they are quite common. They are peaceful creatures, living off the nuts and fruits of trees, and have a greater vitality than humans.

FAIRIES (妖精)

POW: 3 VIT: 7
DEF: 4 INT: 6-7

They fly around freely in the land of Arfgaldt, playing harps of light. It is they who bring bring abundance and joy to this world.

However, they have barely any combat power, defense, etc.
